About the webinar

We all have busy lives, yet we still want to do well and succeed with our dogs. It’s super easy to “practice” instead of “train,” or worse yet, not work the dog at all! Did you know you can target your training so you do less of it and get a greater impact? We talk about how to determine what you need to focus on and lay out ideas to accomplish your goals even if you don’t have many training hours available. One of my favorite phrases is “Training is Training. Trialing is Testing.” Did you know that replicating the searches you see at trials is the worst way to train? At best, you’re just practicing. At worst, you’re actually building problems into your training. We talk about what to do instead. Specific things we cover: How to know WHAT you need to work on Caring for your dog’s core searching qualities: confidence, motivation, independence, focus, hide commitment Use of speed drills Keeping your training in balance Sample training schedules What to do if you have multiple dogs And more! Includes a downloadable handout with a summary, checklist, training log and more, so you can build a training schedule that fits your life and track your impact.
