About the webinar
If you’ve ever struggled with ANYTHING in Scent Work, you’ve probably had too much “practice” and not enough “training.” When we practice, we risk confusing objectives, losing the point, and worse, making it all worse! The hard part is that it can be REALLY challenging to avoid doing the same thing over and over again. What am I talking about? A great example is AKC Buried. Did you know most people struggle with that element because of skill deficiencies that have nothing to do with sand or water? And that they can be addressed by shoring up other skills? The problem is that the answer is always to practice MORE, and the result is more headache and inconsistent results. Eventually the dog might figure it out, just because they’re smart! This webinar isn’t about Buried specifically, but it IS about learning how to slice up your training and increase the CLARITY of what you’re trying to train. Did you know your normal training practices might be working against you? In this webinar, we talk about CLARITY: how to recognize it and how to train with it! Includes a downloadable handout with a summary, checklist, training log and more, to help you split your training into clear pieces and log each session’s objective.
