About the webinar

Part 1 of a series that delves into training and trialing in large area searches. Pacing and coverage can mean finding or leaving hides! Moving up the levels means working more and more complicated search areas. The areas sometimes get really big, and you might have to work hard to cover the whole area effectively. This mini series focuses on the pieces of being successful at training and trialing large area searches. Part 1: Pacing & Coverage. Pacing is the rhythm of moving through an area so that you cover all of it adequately in the time allowed. If your pace is too fast, you will miss hides. If it’s too slow, you may false or lack coverage throughout. This part addresses how to recognize and adjust your pace based on your dog and the time allowed. Includes a downloadable handout with a summary, checklist, training log and more, so you can practice adjusting your pace and track your coverage in large areas. About the series: Each mini webinar runs roughly 1 hour, including Q&A. Each one stands on its own, or you can watch all three. The topics build on each other, but you’re under no obligation to get them all. The other parts are Part 2: Strategies and Part 3: Training Approaches.
