About the webinar
All dogs have their own natural level of drive for searching. The key is harnessing that inborn drive by building motivation for the search. Once it’s built, it needs to be focused if you want to sustain commitment to the hide. This webinar delves into the formula for building and harnessing that motivation. We weave through the theory and application of reinforcement and discover what we can do as handlers and trainers to build that beautiful motivation, whether you have a low drive OR a high drive dog! We also get into focus, Flow State, and a little bit about dopamine and how to make it work for you. You don’t need a high drive dog to have a motivated dog. And if you DO have a high drive dog, you STILL have to motivate them, because unharnessed drive can be directed at a lot of OTHER things too! This webinar will get you thinking outside of that cookie in your pocket and help you get more out of your searching dog. Includes a downloadable handout with a summary, checklist, training log and more, to help you put the motivation formula into practice and track your dog’s intensity and focus.
