Did you know that most training issues in Nosework occur because of an imbalance in the Behavior chain of searching? Re-balancing is key! The behavior chain of searching with a dog is Hunt to Find to Alert. When we over emphasize or under emphasize any of these steps, we end up with a dog out of balance who will be much less effective than what they could be! Over emphasize the alert and you end up with false alerts. Over emphasize hunting and you might get a dog who gets into odor but leaves before finishing the hide.  If you have ANY training issue, it's very likely that an imbalance is at least a large part of the issue! This webinar will talk about the balance between these three pieces of the behavior chain including what can go wrong when one is out of balance (so that you can identify your issue) and how to reestablish balance. This webinar is perfect for both competitors who have training issues and competitors who just want to improve their current performance.

Stacy Barnett

Stacy Barnett is both a sport and working dog handler. She is a top nosework competitor and trainer, and the first handler to put multiple Summit titles (16 so far) on 3 dogs (Judd SMTx3, Brava SMTx7, Powder SMTx6) in the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW). Stacy is also a certified SARTECH II Search and Rescue professionally trained responder and has trained, certified, and deployed with her dog, K9 Prize, for Wilderness Search and Rescue. Stacy has recently joined Missouri Task Force 1 as a US&R Canine Search Specialist. She has been a faculty member at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy since 2015 and is an international clinician for seminars around the world. She is a licensed Judge for for AKC Scent Work where she was also retained in an advisory position for the AKC Scent Work program for 2 years. Stacy is the founder of Scentsabilities Nosework, and has delivered over 250 educational webinars since 2017. Stacy also co-hosts the popular podcast, K9 Detection Collaborative with Robin Greubel.
